For the costume design for „The Effect“ (director: Melanie Oşan) I started do develop a set of 5 armed tops for the performers. The material and cut are also a metaphor for an accelerated and unconventional armament.

Maria Sumak, golden voice of electro and queen of the nightlife; Blue Collar, rapper/musician and poet; Molina Puig, dancer and it-girl; and Greta Dietrich, West Berlin’s grande dame of drag chanson – all of the performers are artists and figures from Berlin’s nightlife. The play interrogates the visibility of queer post-migrant artists and the role racist attributions play in a dominantly white queer scene. The artists’ diverse artistic forms of expression and perspectives are celebrated in a night of performance, juxtaposed in dialogue with one another and fictionalised.

We started a circular design project to create a sustainable spatial structure for a multifunctional use – interior and exterior – such as performance, exhibition, conference and workshop. We were inspired by temporary spaces that are based on a flexibility, mobility and lightness.

Denk’mal die Zukunft

In Denk’mal die Zukunft the artists relate to the architectural and social power relations as well as the future visions of the city of Berlin. A vertical moving sculpture in the space interacts as a second performer and creates different situations for the other performer who is attempting to appropriate and perpetrate his own city.

WOHNEN MIT ZUKUNFT is the first part in a trilogy dedicated to the relationship between architecture and performance. In the style of a silent movie, a physical and spatial language will become a collective form of housing and questions will be raised about other forms of cohabitation. Should we get used to the current living conditions? When does habitation end? What will habits without inhabitance become?

Eine einsame Insel jenseits der Zivilisation, bewohnt von Luftgeistern und erfüllt von schwarzer Magie. Hier strandete einst der Herzog von Mailand Prospero mit seiner Tochter Miranda. Sein Bruder Antonio hatte ihn auf dem offenen Meer ausgesetzt – mit der Hoffnung auf ein Nimmerwiedersehen. Doch Prospero hat sich inzwischen mit Hilfe seiner Zauberkräfte die Insel zu eigen gemacht, die Hexe Sycorax besiegt, ihren Sohn Caliban zu seinem Diener gemacht und den Geist Ariel erlöst, der seither sein treuer Gefährte ist.

Fari is exploring and outlining everyday situations in a foldable object in utopian locations. Her restricted movement will emphasize the ever-changing possibilities and limits of these locations.

Der Film knüpft an ein wahres Ereignis an: Oury Jalloh verbrannte am 7. Januar 2005, an Händen und Füßen gefesselt, in einer Dessauer Polizeizelle – auf einer feuerfesten Matratze!
